OSP license - Overview
OSP (other services providers) refers to the services and the solutions offered in the telecom sector which utilizes the telecommunication assets. It includes call centers license, BPO, IPO, tele-banking, Tele-medicines, tele-education and much more. The Telecom department under the NTP (New telecom Policy) has made it mandatory for companies utilizing telecom licenses to obtain a license.
Introduction
In February 2000 the Telecom Commission implemented some terms and conditions with respect to OSPs. As indicated by the terms and conditions Apply OSPs License must not provide exchanged telephony and are permitted to use telecom assets from approved Telecom Service Providers. Telecommunication branches offer enrollment to telecom assets offering a number of services, which incorporates services such as tele-banking, BPOs/call centers and other IT powered services.
Usability
Registration of OSP is compulsory for a specialist in India offering types of services like telemedicine, tele-coaching, tele-banking, e-commerce, call focus, call centers, and other IT Enabled Services and is utilizing telecom assets.
Requirements for obtaining OSP Registration
In order to acquire OSP Registration, it is obligatory for the company to be a Private Limited. Following archives are essential for OSP Registration in addition to the application form:
• Endorsement of Private Limited Company Incorporation
• A memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA)
• Leading Power of Attorney approving the authorized signatory
• Activities proposed and Name of company
• Name of directors
• Current Shareholding
• All these documents must be certified by a Company Secretary or Company's director or Public Notary.
OSP Agreement
The OSP license is valid for a time of 20 years. Yearly OSP return is submitted to the Telecommunication authorities stating the exercises attempted and the current status of OSP. Furthermore, the annual return for the renewal of the OSP License must be submitted within 6 months of the financial year's completion. It is important that it is compulsory for OSPs to maintain compliance with the Terms and Conditions for the OSPs recommended by the Department of Telecommunication.
